Navigation Inn, Barrow upon Soar
An excellent Embers turnout eased us into March on a bright day. Fourteen riders collected at the Royal Oak in Kirby Muxloe, and then Ricardo led the ride to Bradgate Park, where we had our alfresco banana break.
We then continued to the Navigation Inn, Barrow upon Soar for our lunch. From there some riders returned to Kirby Muxloe, while others took different paths home.
Back row, left to right: Dave Parry, Nigel Lines, John Ashworth, Richard Clark, Ian Bower, Mick Ayriss, Peter Wright, Derek Jordan, Grahame Billington, Richard Sleath, Tim Wicks.
Front row: Ben Crossley, Carol Homa, John Muschialli. Roll mousewheel to zoom in.

Wheel & Compass, Weston by Welland
A raw north wind did not deter ten Embers. After warming coffee at Dodie's Cafe we set off into the sunshine. A broken chain split the run into two groups, but with our destination arranged, we converged on the Wheel & Compass a few minutes before opening time.
Riders again split into smaller groups for the ride back, and we were all caught at some stage by a hail shower.

Red Lion, Huncote
Embers assembled at Huncote where we met past LPMCC member Richard Taylor walking his dog before going for a ride on his motorcycle.
The weather was good enough to tempt Kathy to join us on her new bicycle. We had a stop for coffee at Greenacres Garden Centre in the morning. Lunch at the Red Lion. Stopped at Palmers Garden Centre in the afternoon.
- Nigel Lines
Three Embers started from Thurlaston Garden Centre after early refreshments, then took a short and curly route to lunch with the crowd.

Nags Head, Harby
Being part of the Embers is as much about friendship as cycling. With my legs not so keen on cycling I was offered a chance to ride an electric bike to see if that would help. Thanks Mick for lending me your bike. Riding from home to Syston with Ben, my legs were very happy. Not so keen cycling back on my bike with no turbo to help when the going got tough.
- Peter Wright
Ten Embers met at the Melton Country Park. Mick had to drive back home as he'd forgotten his e-bike battery. Just before the rest of us set off for Scalford, Ian stood on his glasses, which obviously broke. We cycled up the Melton Spinny Road to find that the new bypass roundabout only led to Twin Lakes.
Cycled back to the Country Park where we met Mick. Cycled to Stathern and stopped at The Plough pub. No food then back to Harby for food and beer at the Nags Head.
After that we cycled to Long Clawson for a cheese stop.
The group split up on the way back to Melton. Some of us went to Asfordby, then on to the Blue Bell at Hoby for tea and coffee. My pedal fell off in Thrussington. Managed a running repair. Derek had a puncture near East Goscote, which we repaired. Then home without further mishap!
