Quorndon Fox, Quorn

Embers delayed their ride until Friday due to a poor forecast for their usual day. Fourteen riders were rewarded for their patience with a perfect autumn day.

After gathering at Syston, Ian led the way to Bradgate Park and then onward to a lunchtime pub.

The Quorndon Fox provided our lunch this week. We really should look at our own reviews!

Roll your mousewheel to zoom in: Left to right, standing are Ian Bower, Tim Wicks, Simon Over, Derek Jordan, Grahame Billington, Mick Ayriss, Ian Jacques, Carol Homa, Richard Clark.
Kneeling, Dave Parry, Richard Sleath, John Muschialli, Peter Wright, Ben Crossley.

This Friday the above many Embers cycled miles between them.

Wheatsheaf, Thurcaston

Starting from Kirby Muxloe, Ricardo guided the Embers on traffic free routes to and through Leicester, pausing at Abbey Park Pavillion for our banana break.

We then made our way across Watermead Park and Dave picked a route that avoided Greengate Lane hill on our way to the Wheatsheaf in Thurcaston (because we checked our reviews!)

This week many Embers cycled miles.

Shires Inn, Peatling Parva

Nine Embers dodged another wet Thursday and were rewarded with an almost dry ride on Friday. Starting from Kibworth Grammar School they continued their education on a roundabout route to Peatling Parva with a short banana break at Peatling Magna.

Embers were made up to ten at the Shires Inn where we met Ricardo. After a hearty lunch we returned the short way. Just as well because we encountered a shower close to the end.

Peter and Dave cycled on Saturday on a qualifying ride, so altogether many Embers went pedalling miles.

Red Lion, Huncote

Ten Embers met at the Red Lion and waited for Velo John and Derek to fetch Peter Juby from the Velocette Spares Emporium. Then we set off for our banana break at Mallory Park.

We paused for coffee at Burbage Common before returning to Huncote for lunch.

Most of the many Embers only cycled during the morning because of the forecast rain. They covered miles to complete November.

Into Festive December.
