Aleix Espargaró

Aleix Espargaró Villà born 30 July 1989 in Granollers, Spain. He is a Spanish motorcycle road racer. He competes in MotoGP, racing for Aprilia. His younger brother Pol is also a MotoGP racer.

Espargaró moved to the 250cc class of Grand Prix Motorcycle World Championship racing mid-season, from the 125cc class.

For 2009, Espargaró had two appearances at Assen and Sachsenring. He also was a Moto2 development rider. He raced in last two races of the 2009 season in Sepang and Valencia.

After a year back in Moto2 in 2011, Espargaró returned to the MotoGP class, and was the highest placed CRT rider for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

In 2014, he recorded his first ever pole position at the Dutch TT at Assen, coming in his 150th Grand Prix. He dominated the Open Class.

2015 MotoGP Factory Suzuki Team.

Aleix Espargaró managed his best result, a sixth place in Aragon. He finished eleventh in the Championship with 105 points.

2016 MotoGP Factory Suzuki Team.

Aleix Espargaró managed best results two fifth places at America and the Spanish GP. Five Retirements meant he finished eleventh in the Championship with 93 points.

2017 MotoGP Factory Aprilia Racing Team.

Aleix Espargaró best results were two sixth places in Qatar and Aragon. He would have done well if he hadn’t had so many retirements, eight in total.

Espargaró finished in 15th in the Championship with 62 points.

For the 2018 season he continues with the Factory Aprilia Racing Team alongside, new to Aprilia, Britain’s Scott Redding.
