Pots 'n' Pans Rally

29 June to 1 July 2011

- Steve

Steve Giddens has attended Rallies for 39 years and does a handful of selected traditional rallies each year then sends reports to LPMCC.net.

You are invited to register an interest in his 1st Pot's 'n' Pans Rally which will be of a traditional nature, provisionally June 29th - July 1st.
The rally will generate a donation to a local charity (see Steve's Captain Cook report).

Steve says the field is flat, the pub is superb with award winning cask conditioned beers brewed on the premises. There is an excellent food menu so you'd better be hungry!

The rally will be strictly pre book (£12.00) with a 150 limit. Details will be provided and confirmed in due course.

The site is in the picturesque Saddleworth tourist area where there are lots of local attractions and traditions, the walk up to the Pots 'n' Pans monument being just one.

Start of quotation Les Hobbs, George Perrin and I enjoyed an evening in what will be The Rally Pub. I was drinking St George's Bitter, ABV 3.6% @ £1.70 a pint. I think Les hit the Honeysmacker, again £1.70 @ 4.1% ABV. George sampled the Saddleworth Mild then reverted to Harvest Moon 4.1% @ £1.20 a pint. The Indians Z is a Wheat Beer @ £1.70 and 4.1% ABV. The Sheila AR Taylor is the landlord's own lager, ABV 4.0% @ £2,50 - currently on offer @ £2.00 a pint. All brewed on the premises.

The Rally name is nothing to do with cooking at a Rally. Pots 'n' Pans is a War Memorial perched on a hill and visible from my lounge window around the corner from Pots 'n' Pans and overlooks Dovestones Reservoir on the Isle of Skye Rd - leading to Holmfirth. Awesome bike road on the way up - respect coming down please!

Send no money now but please register an interest ASAP to help Steve to plan. Please supply address, e-mail, telephone and text contact details to ...
