Octoberclick for this month's league table

Red Lion, Market Bosworth

The day began bright and remained dry as it couded over and cooled down. Tem Embers started from Sutton Wharf and paused for bananas and rustling on their way to the Red lion at Market Bosworth.

A good start to October with many Embers riding miles.

The Barn, Willey

The main group had a late start due to traffic hold-ups. They then had to back-track from their original destination or wait until Saturday for a table for lunch. Apart from that, the day went well, with lunch at The Barn and two coffee breaks.

With Wishbone riding alone and Velo John and Derek having an easy ride in Northants, this week totals miles for many Embers.

Coach and Horses, Brixworth

This week Embers were blessed with brilliant sunshine. Ten met at Harborough and then set off south for lunch at the Coach and Horses in Brixworth on a long and hilly ride.

With two Ember pairs also making the most of a good day, many Embers cycled miles despite a stiff, cold breeze.

The Grainstore, Oakham

Seven Embers began their ride with a coffee at the garden centre cafe and then set off on a leisurely circuit of Rutland Water tracks. They reached the Grainstore at Oakham in time to enjoy an excellent lunch.

Velo John and Derek, Wishbone and Ricardo on alternative rides, added up to many Embers cycling miles in the last week of October.

Keeping warm in November by cycling up hills.
